Last December, ENGIE Mexico signed 4 new energy supply contracts, for a total capacity of 74 MW, representing revenues of 180 million dollars.

The new customers are:

  • B2E, 20 MW for 10 years
  • E3C, 30 MW for 7 years
  • Whirlpool, 22 MW for 3 years
  • Interpec, 2 MW for 3 years

The capacity and energy sold will be supplied by the Monterrey co-generation plant. The contracts represent a level of contracting of 77% for the plant, as of 1st April 2018.

ENGIE Mexico reasserts its commitment within the new Mexican Electricity Market, following the energy reform process initiated by the Government in 2014.

Following the recent creation of our new Mexico Energy and Services marketing company (SyEM), we are able to offer power, clean energy certification, and associated services, to qualified users with demands of more than 1 MW, within the recently formed Wholesale Electricity Market. This would have been impossible only a year ago, with the state electricity company CFE having sole and exclusive responsibility in this market”. Frédéric Bathy, Director Gas & Power, ENGIE Mexico.
