4/7/2017 – Throughout the world, cities are innovating, experimenting, acting. Because they bring together a whole population of actors and are more agile than states, cities are the home of solutions, accelerators of change… In this spirit, the French newspaper Le Monde and its partners, including ENGIE, launched the second edition of the Urban Innovation Awards in autumn 2016.

Our teams mobilised strongly, since 11 initiatives contributing to changing the city were entered out of a total of 105. Today, in Lyon, an international jury awarded prizes to the projects in the areas of innovation, energy, housing, mobility and civic participation.

We were twice runner-up in the Energy category for the following projects:

01- THASSALIA, the first French marine geothermal power plant (ENGIE Cofely) – data sheetvideo

02- ZOEnergy, an innovative public-private partnership offering a more healthy climate to the inhabitants of an Amsterdam neighbourhood (ENGIE Services Nederland)  – data sheetvideo
