Offering innovative solutions to reduce air traffic’s environmental footprint is one of our key commitments to airports all around the world. Our expertise in this field is once again recognized in New Caledonia, where our intermediate stop assistance contract was just renewed for 7 years.

Passenger registration, freight management, baggage handling, aircraft cleaning, runway operations, catering… This public service concession for intermediate stop assistance covers all aircraft and passenger support activities for a global amount of €90 million.

Our subsidiary Pacific Airport ENGIE was awarded this contract thanks to the commitment of its 175 employees, the quality of its comprehensive range of services, recognized by the airlines that serve the airport, and to the consolidation of all its activities under one entity.

ENGIE, partner of sustainable tourism development in New Caledonia

The renewal of this contract attests to our experience providing integrated, custom-tailored services in a specific overseas context. ENGIE is proud to play a key role in this project of paramount importance to New Caledonia’s tourism development”, said François Laforest, Regional Director of Pacifique Ouest division within ENGIE France Réseaux.

With nearly 500,000 passengers in 2015, New Caledonia’s international Nouméa-La Tontouta airport, entirely refurbished in 2012, enjoys an expansion of air traffic, growing in 2015 by 3.8%. “The CCI-NC is delighted with the renewal of this partnership that will serve to improve the platform’s operation, with the objective, shared by all, of enhancing passenger welfare”, stated Jennifer Seagoe, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New Caledonia, which manages the international airport of Nouméa-La Tontouta.

Innovative services to airports around the world

Against the background of increased air traffic (+100% by 2030, according to forecasts), airports are seeking to reduce their operations’ energy consumption and environmental footprint.

We currently service 34 airports around the world, including Washington D.C., Abu Dhabi, Cape Town, La Réunion and Singapore, and handle 40 million pieces of baggage. These airport services generate some €160 million in global revenues.

We provide solutions that integrate design, supply, installation, commissioning and technical installation maintenance, in particular aeronautical control and aircraft circulation systems (including control tower, regional control center, navigation aids and telecommunications networks).

These activities address public and private airport operators and civil aviation control authorities, as well as airline companies and other stakeholders.
