Which sport are you praticing?

I practice cross fit and run one a two times a week, and I am myself a teacher in the gym for Body Combat. I also walked the ‘Nijmeegse Vierdaagse’*, run the New York Marathon and participated more than once Trophy and Raid.

Participating sports is a way of life for me : a small confessions needs to say that even when I plan a vacation to rest, before the confirmation I check whether there is a gym or whether they have sportive events!

How to bring your passion for sport at ENGIE?

When I started 10 years ago here at ENGIE I came at the right moment: there was a so called Trophy organized, and a Raid: a week together with colleagues as a team playing all kinds of sports. What a solidarity, what a company, what a sensation. That moment that I pushed a exhausted team mate on her bike to the top of the mountain, where she all crying out hugged me! Unfortunately there are no more of that kind of events, but I still like to participate in everything sportive. In that way I have participated in the so called ‘Nijmeegse Vierdaagse’ (4 days 40 km walk without exercising in advance) and did I run the New York Marathon for prevent children cancer KIKA.

How do you implement these benefits to meet your work challenges?

It brings me energy; during the sport events organized by ENGIE I felt connected to my colleagues and proud to be a part of this great company. The demonstration of my energy, enthusiasm and perseverance makes it easy to win customers and make ENGIE an expanded organization so I can be a valuable contributor.

* ‘Nijmeegse Vierdaagse’ The International Four Day Marches Nijmegen is the largest multiple day marching event in the world. It is organised every year in Nijmegen, Netherlands in mid-July as a means of promoting sport and exercise. Participants walk 30, 40 or 50 kilometers daily depending on their age and gender, and, on completion, receive a royally approved medal (Vierdaagsekruis). The participants are mostly civilians, but there are also a few thousand military participants.
