ENGIE UK: A charity bike ride between London and Paris
24/07/2018News
In the UK, ENGIE Ride is an annual sponsored cycling event which raises money (£25,000 last year) for charities selected by ENGIE UK. This year, the charities were Macmillan Cancer Support, Mind (mental health) and The Prince’s Trust (young people from disadvantaged backgrounds).
For its third edition, ENGIE Ride took the decision to propose a cross-channel route for its cyclists, from London to Paris.
35 ENGIE employees and subcontractors, accompanied in cars by a dozen guides and technical staff, left the ENGIE headquarters in London on 4 July to get to Paris in three stages: Calais, Abbeville and Beauvais.
After arriving in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris on Saturday 7 July, they went on to T1, the last stop of their adventure, where they had the good grace to pose for a group photo of the finishers on the esplanade before going home the following day.
Congratulations to the organisers and to our valiant cyclists!
