The Africa BU attended Africa Energy Forum 2017, which was held during June 7-9 in Copenhagen. Bruno Bensasson, Chief Executive Officer Africa, delivered the keynote speech of this forum and participated in a round table on the new deal on energy in Africa.

For 19 years, the Africa Energy Forum has been the global meeting place for investors in the energy, infrastructure and industry sectors.

Our Group attended for the 4th time in order to raise its visibility and boost its position on the African energy market, while sharing its successes and expertise on the continent.

A technical revolution is underway. If all goes well, the total electrification of Africa should be effective by 2025”, announced Bruno Bensasson during his keynote speech. Bruno Bensasson also recalled that with more than 500 Group employees in Africa and 3000 MW in operation and under construction, our Group was already strongly committed to the continent. Nonetheless, it was decided in 2016 to speed up our development in order to support the African countries in their energy revolution and meet the needs of the regions, businesses and inhabitants through our strategic activities: renewable energies, natural gas and energy services.

The aim of this conference is to build synergies and achieve solutions”, added Bruno Bensasson, emphasising the need to move things forward faster in Africa. “Each state is of course sovereign in its choices, but I strongly believe in the merits of comparison, emulation and discussion, between the public and private, financial and industrial sectors and between Africans and non-Africans”.
