In Chile, we acquire LNG Company Gas-Stream

Gas-Stream has operations in central Chile through nine regasification satellite plants as well as others under construction. They supply natural gas to various types of industries.
Our Group’s acquisition of Gas-Stream is in line with our business plan in Latin America, in contribution to the energy revolution, as highlighted by Pierre Devillers, Country Manager of ENGIE in Chile: “this acquisition is in line with the business plan of ENGIE Latin America, which seeks to be a key player in the energy and services sector in Chile, contributing to the energy transition, through a strong focus towards the development of clean, reliable and competitively priced energy and driving the services segment, especially energy efficiency, and innovation.”
Gas-Stream CEO Rafael Francolino explained that the holding company decided to expand its operations to Chile, seeing it as “a great opportunity in the small-scale LNG segment. Large industries such as mining, for example, have the potential to adapt their production processes and vehicles to the use of cleaner and more efficient fuel.” He continued, adding “after three years of operations we saw the benefits to be had in joining a company with important gas infrastructure and presence in almost all regions of the country. Now as part of ENGIE we will continue working to make natural gas available to the largest number of industries in Chile.”
Our Group operates a solid gas infrastructure in northern Chile: Mejillones LNG regasification terminal, gas transportation pipeline to northern Argentina, gas distribution network in the Antofagasta region and a company specialized in the commercialization of natural gas.
ENGIE has appointed Santiago Romero Neto, Commercial Manager of ENGIE Gas Chile (former Solgas), as Deputy CEO, to support Gas-Stream’s CEO, Rafael Francolino.
