Storengy partnerships with ENGIE Green and ENGIE Biogaz: win-win developments
17/03/2017News
Storengy, within the framework of its activities and its commitment to energy transition, is planning to develop local projects for its sites, located in the heart of its territories. Storengy proposes that it should make the most of its territorial presence; its associated properties; and its skills in stakeholder management; in order to be able to handle renewable energy production projects, working alongside the France Renewable Energy BU. Due to its skill set, Storengy will create value by involving itself according to the projects, in the design, the production, investment, the operations and the maintenance of projects.
ENGIE Green, a subsidiary of the France Renewable Energy BU, specialises in the development of land-based wind farms, photovoltaic solar production and off-shore energy, plays an important role in the completion of a range of the objectives, as laid out by the France Renewable Energy BU, in terms of the development of production capacity. ENGIE Green is aiming to create value, using its skills in investment, development, Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC), and, depending on the individual project, can also involve itself in the operation and maintenance of projects, accelerating its own development by means of potential synergies within the Group, particularly in terms of the valorisation of existing industrial sites.
Due to the complementary features of each unit’s individual skills, the France Renewable Energy BU and Storengy would like to be able to cooperate, investing in, and developing, renewable energy production projects in the proximity of some of Storengy’s storage sites.
ENGIE Green and Storengy are committed to consolidate their partnership, launching their first projects, notably solar, together on a number of sites. Notably, they may be able to create these synergies through their respective territorial involvement, in order to facilitate and accelerate the development of joint projects. Therefore, the two Business Units would like a balanced partnership, in order to ensure that each entity is in a winning position when working with the other, whilst remaining within the bounds of the market in question.
“It’s a win-win partnership, which allows individual Group units to create added value. This allows us to pool the skills of each Business Unit, for improved efficiency and development”, states Gwenaëlle Huet, CEO of the France Renewable Energy BU.
This partnership is an excellent example of what the new Group strategy allows: synergies between Business Units, designed to accelerate energy transition-related developments”, underlined Cécile Prévieu, CEO of Storengy.
In parallel with this agreement, within the field of biogas production, Storengy has signed a second partnership agreement with ENGIE Biogaz, to improve its insertion into the local environment, using the circular economy generated by methanisation. Thus, thanks to the complementary natures of their two skill sets, ENGIE Biogaz and Storengy are collaborating to invest and develop methanisation projects on Storengy sites, the potentials of which are to be identified using a concerted approach by both parties.
As for the renewable electricity production projects, Storengy will create value by involving itself according to the projects, in the design, production, investment, operations and maintenance.
ENGIE Biogaz brings to the table its own set of skills, covering investment, development, project management support, operations and maintenance, as required, as well as being involved in the purchasing of bio-methane.
