ENGIE Fabricom has been awarded a EUR 30 million contract with Kinder Morgan Terminals to fabricate, assemble and install 52 pipe rack modules for the Baseline Terminal Interconnects Project in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The Baseline Terminal Interconnects project is scheduled to be completed July 31, 2017 and to include structural steel, piping, hydro testing, painting, electrical and instrumentation services, electrical heat tracing, insulation, transportation, module lifting/setting and site installation. Execution of the work will be coordinated between disciplines at the module yard and project site to ensure milestone dates are met.

The main challenge of this project will be the safe installation of modules within an already existing operating oil terminal, in a manner that will not interrupt normal operations. Underground facilities are also in close proximity to the work area, requiring attention to equipment weights and ground pressures during module installation.
